Stanhoe Village Hall hosting screening of ‘Widow Clicquot’ as its first film of year in January
Stanhoe Reading Room and Village Hall will be hosting its first film screening of 2025 in a few weeks.
The 15 age-rated drama ‘Widow Clicquot’ will be shown on Monday, January 13 at 7.30pm.
The film is based after the death of her beloved but somewhat mentally troubled, husband François, widow Barbe-Nicole Clicquot fights for the right, in a male-dominated field, to run his vineyard and produce his last vintage from the last vines he planted.
She is faced with opposition from her father-in-law, staff and the Napoleonic Laws on succession as a woman.
Based on a true story, this is a must-watch film, whether you are a lover of period dramas, fine wines or merely a champagne connoisseur.
You will be able to watch the film at Stanhoe Reading Room and Village Hall, down Cross Lane.
Tickets cost £5 each on the door which includes a complimentary drink. Doors will open at 7pm.
