St Germans puts out the Union flags

St Germans community Platinum Jubilee celebrations will take place on Friday, 1pm to 5pm at the Memorial Village Hall.

The event will be opened on the village field with the presentation of the official plaque to mark the planting of a Jubilee Tree as a legacy fitting to the Queen’s Green Canopy scheme.

The plaque records that the parish council supported by the Sunshine Club, Ladies Group and village hall committee organised the planting of the tree.

Following the official opening, the afternoon continues with the Crown and Anchor pub providing a bar and barbecue in a marquee beside the hall, various stalls and competitions for adults and children, with light refreshments in the hall, and vintage cars and buses on display.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
