Wereham open gardens event offers warm welcome to visitors
A popular annual village event will be taking place on Sunday.
From noon until 5pm at St Margaret’s Church in Wereham the open gardens will be held.
This is the 19th open gardens event in the history of the village.
It is organised by an enthusiastic group of gardeners who offer a warm welcome and invite visitors to spend time looking around their garden and sharing ideas and tips to take home and use.
Two gardens are new to the event this year, with some newly landscaped on a circular walking route
Maps showing the location of all of the gardens that are open to view and enjoy are available from St Margaret’s Church, in the heart of the village, on the day.
Tickets cost £6 for adults and accompanied children go free.
There will be craft sales and a raffle, delicious salad lunches, homemade cakes and afternoon tea will be available from midday in the village hall.
A spokesperson said: “All monies raised on the day go towards helping to maintain our beautiful Grade II listed St Margaret’s Church, ensuring that it can remain open and available for everyone.
“Do come along and join us and have a great day out.”
