West Acre Gallery hoping for big draw at first art fair
West Acre Gallery invites art lovers, Christmas shoppers, Norfolk visitors, residents and village locals to its inaugural Festive Art Fair Weekend tomorrow and Sunday.
Whatever your taste or budget, the fair will offer a range of quality art, homewares, greeting cards and handmade gifts created by local independent artists, designers, makers and artisans.
Set within the ruins of a 900-year-old priory, in a new art gallery Crowdfunded by the community, the fair will provide a unique shopping experience within a magical festive setting.
A variety of traders will offer everything from original artworks – including paintings, pastel and pencil art – to quirky one-off items of jewellery, mosaics, ceramics, cushions, Christmas decorations, lampshades, soaps and bath salts.
Eco-friendly alternatives to mainstream products will include hand-crafted bags made from reclaimed or recycled saddles, sofas, boot leather and tyre inner tubes, plus fabric aprons, children’s tipis and reusable fabric gift wraps for consumers with a conscience.
Support local at this humble alternative to the commercial high street, and buy affordable pieces direct from the artists themselves.
While you’re there enjoy hot beverages and delicious homebaked goods by the team behind Apple Café, a popular eaterie at the walled West Acre Gardens nearby.
The Festive Art Fair Weekend will take place 11am-4pm, Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24 at West Acre Gallery, Abbey Farm, River Road, West Acre PE32 1UA. Free entry.
