The Lost King with Sally Hawkins and Steve Coogan at Stanhoe Reading Room and Village Hall
The Lost King (12A) is being shown on Friday, January 27, 7.30pm, at Stanhoe Reading Room and Village Hall, Cross Lane, PE31 8PS. Doors open 7pm.
In 2012, having been lost for over 500 years, the remains of King Richard III were discovered beneath a car park in Leicester.
The search was orchestrated by an amateur historian, Philippa Langley (Sally Hawkins), whose unrelenting research had been met with incomprehension by her friends and family and with scepticism by experts and academics.
This is the life-affirming story of the woman who took on the country’s most eminent historians, forcing them to think again about one of the most controversial kings in English history.
Tickets £5 (cash only) on the door to include a complimentary drink.
