A historic eight-bedroom house in the heart of Downham has gone up for sale for £890,000.
The Priory, a Grade II listed building, has been described as “certainly the oldest residential property” in the town and is now on the market.
The 17th-century property has been renovated but is said to still maintain its historic features - according to estate agent Fine and Country which is selling the property.

Fine and Country has described the property, which spans across 4,201 sq ft, as a “legacy waiting to be embraced”.
“Exposed beams, intricate mouldings, and impressive fireplaces creating a captivating atmosphere throughout the residence,” a spokesperson for the estate agents added.
The property also boasts a drawing room on the second floor which the estate agents recommend for entertaining guests in.

Does the moss on the roof, come as an extra ?? Or does it indicate a neglected ramshackle old house, in a ramshackle old village/town ?

If I had £890,000 to spend on a property, I wouldn't be buying one that's nearest neighbours are a Royal Mail delivery office and a Tesco superstore!!!
