Hunstanton author Rohan Davies publishes first book ‘The Demon and the Witch’
A fantasy enthusiast is over the moon after having his first book published.
Rohan Davies, from Hunstanton, has been interested in the fantasy genre for “years and years”.
The 55-year-old has always been an avid player of games, and was in the process of creating his own when he decided to turn its premise into a novel.
Now, ‘The Demon and the Witch’ has officially been published.
The plot follows the transformation of Anike, a young woman who must learn to transcend the confines of her society through the curse – or gift – of witchcraft.
Set in a world rich with Norse mythology and lore, Rohan hopes it will enchant readers with its blend of magic, myth, and profound human insight.
It is the first in a planned series, and ideas for the next installments are already in place.
Rohan, who spent 18 months working on ‘The Demon and the Witch’, said: “People who have read it like it.
“It is on Amazon, and I have one review and a couple of five-star ratings.
“Other people I have spoken to seem to like it.”
The novel explores themes of identity, power, and the struggle for acceptance in a world that fears what it does not understand.
The author Zelda C Thorne has described it as an “exciting coming-of age fantasy”.
‘The Demon and the Witch’ is available for purchase in hardcover, paperback, and ebook, currently from Amazon – but copies are also available from Ingramspark.
The second book is planned to be called ‘The Giant and the Witch’.
Rohan worked as a lawyer before starting to write and design games full-time.
